last night we had an interesting experience with dinner....
on occasion of holi, the mess was closed. so me, arijit and chaube had no option bu to go outside to eat. having already eaten out several times during the week each of us shared a common concern: severe cash crunch.
to save money, we started by setting off for dinner by foot. walking thru the lakeside gate we finally made our way to HN. at HN we were once again at loss as to how to minimize the cost of our meal. we decided to wander about galleria looking for the cheapest joint to hit upon.
on reaching galleria, we found the entire place was swarming with iitians, most of whom we personally knew. that was it..... no need any more for us to order food! we geezed parathas from 4 different ppl, chopsuey and fried rice from another group, ice cream bites from several ppl stepping outside baskin etc..
in the process we also met rathi on a date who had momentarily stepped outside of mocha for a phone call... miserly fellow refused to lend us 50 bucks inspite of seeing our pitiful state.
nonetheless, courtesy some wingies, hostel sophies, department mates, hostel bathcmates, mi co-cgs etc.. we managed to have a good meal in bits and pieces.
