the shining star in the eastern sky

the shining star in the eastern sky
twinkling with mischief up so high
sometimes i see the rain drops
but the buoyant spirit never stops

i see it in the darkest night
glowering in its pristine light
the green eyed monster of envy
sets turmoil deep inside of me

i want to put you into a box
secured tight by mighty locks
but you continue to shine afar
